She's A Real Golden Gal

Mary's Market turned 100 years young in 2022! This historic hometown café nestled in a little canyon at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains in Sierra Madre. This neighborhood gem serves hot coffee, homemade food, vintage treasures, and old-school canyon charm. Loved by locals and visitors alike, it’s known for its friendly atmosphere, delicious menu, and rich history. Dating back to a time when the local café was the heart of small-town America, Mary's Market remains a spot where neighbors still walk over for their daily coffee and a newspaper.

Established in 1922, Mary's Market has long been a welcoming landmark for the community. Originally Spartan's Meat and Grocer, it became Mary's Market when Irish immigrant Mary Perkins purchased it in 1966. Open seven days a week, Mary offered sodas, candies, and friendly advice to the Sierra Madre canyon residents. Today, we are dedicated to preserving her legacy and continuing the tradition of true small-town charm.
